1827 viewsThis ride started at the Clubhouse with a pick-up in Bunnell. The weather was perfect, a great day for riding and as it turn out everything was ideal. A relaxing ride up Us 1, turning off to some of the back roads along the St. Johns river with a rest break at a Wayside Park On route 13 through Switzerland (I thought we were still the Good old USA) and Fruit Cove. Arriving at the Restaurant we were seated almost immediately after a leisurely lunch and good Conversation. The Group (15 Members w/four Guest) split up with some member heading down US1 because of previous arrangement. And the rest taking the long way Home through Palatka and down US 17. On this return trip home we stopped at George and Barbara Souza's. They had planned on going but due to an unfortunate accident they could not make this run. All in all a great day with Friends and Great riding. (7 votes)

1920 viewsOn Nov. 23rd. the Daytona 200 M/C held their 31th Annual Toys for Our Kids Bike Run to benefit “Our Children First / A Child’s Dream. With a perfect weather day, the 426 riders began the run at the 200 Clubhouse on U S 92. Riders were welcomed in the morning by Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus with coffee and donuts from Krispy Kreme. This year’s ride ran through the country roads with stops at Critter’s Pub, Dale’s Ale, and the Shady Oak Tavern. The final destination was Trader Jacks Roadside in Deland, where riders were treated to Jim and Lisa’s BBQ plate donated by them. Music was by the Big Rick and the Troublemakers. Their Biker Blues music made for agreat Party Atmosphere. The prizes were in abundance, with door/raffle prizes totaling 588. The live auction was presented by Jay Lloyd from the auto auction. He did an incredible job. A total of 48 auction items from various resorts, Nascar, retailers and many others, made the auction very popular and successful. Total retail value of all items donated was $21,100.00. Now, that’s an incentive to ride our Toy Run The winners of the dice roll, each won $150.00 for high and low score. 200 Club member Alleen Fields had the winning 50/50 ticket worth $367.00 and donated it back to the charity. Club Challenge was won by the Daytona HOG chapter with a showing of 38 riders. The Southern Cruisers and Blue Knights settled for 2nd. and 3rd. The total revenue benefit for Our Children’s First was $11,933.00 plus an abundance of toys, which were given to Director Fran Moccia at O.C.F.
Many thanks go out to all the sponsors and donors who helped make this Toy Run our best ever. Also, thanks to the members of the Club for all their effort. Needless to say, without the Bikers participation and digging deep in their pockets during these hard times there would be no charity for our kids in need at Christmas time. The brotherhood and sisterhood of bikers continue to show they have the biggest hearts of any group of people. Thanks to each and every one of you. In closing on behalf of our club we hope you have a very Blessed Holiday Season, and Best wishes for the New Year…. (5 votes)
